Mistake Proofing Kick-off

Mistake Proofing is one of the most powerful tools in the Lean tool bag, but one of the most under utilized. The purpose of this web log is to help turn that around.

My simple definition of a Mistake Proofing device is something put in place to make it impossible for the defect to occur. Sounds simple, doesn't it? The problem is getting to the root cause of the defect.

On this blog, I hope to share Mistake Proofing challenges and solutions and hope that many of you may put your two cents worth. Feel free to comment back and ask questions about specific problems you may have, or to leave possible solutions.
